True horror is when one of those commercials comes on and you can’t find the TV remote. I can watch commercials for “Save the Children” without batting an eye, but those ASPCA commercials destroy me.
ColoradoRon, I think the reason you hear so many people speaking up for animals is because they absolutely can’t EVER speak up for themselves. They need someone to champion their cause. Sadly, people are will to take up that rallying cry and help, when they are not with people. I think they believe that children have families and it is their responsibility to care for them. You actually make a good case for abortion. I’m pro-life (who isn’t, really?) but I prefer a woman who has no business or inclination having a baby, terminating the pregnancy. It’s far more humane than throwing babies in dumpsters, giving birth to a child exposed to harrowing drug use and fetal alcohol syndrome (which is just awful and can’t be undone), shaken, abused and neglected children.
