@ Bev,I’m so glad your mom is doing better. I had that, I got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and it was like stepping off a 10 story building! Next thing I was flat on my face. No fun that!
Hay Bev… Teh ShRRiff is awlways reddy to lend a hand… or escort ya ifn ya needs to git sumwares fasst….!!!Ah got new lites on mah scooter (on sail at SteLs WWOI Anneks fer $9.42…. jus sayin’…:())
Hey Sherif……I know the culprits…..its those office gremlins at it again. The secretly enter offices at night and sabotage things like chairs, printers, copiers and such. There is only one cure……..leave the office donuts out when you leave at night. Consider it a sort of sacrifice to them. They get sleepy eating those sugary things and fall asleep early.
I used to work for an American office furniture manufacturer in the UK and at one point the whole office was given new chairs. My boss sat on his and immediately the whole thing collapsed. He picked it up, took it onto the factory floor and threw it in the general direction of the assembly line. .Needless to say, we all had to wait until all chairs were examined before we were allowed to sit down again.
As Al S pointed out, casters are the wheels on the chair (or other furniture) but they could be placed in coasters to prevent the casters from rolling. I like casters on heavy furniture (such as this desk which holds all my computer stuff including 2 scanners and a printer, camera, speakers and other stuff like paper supplies, stapler and electric pencil sharpener.
@Bev, Glad to hear that your mom is on the mend. I think I will schedule myself for cataract surgery on my left (worst) eye right after I move to new house.
Our thanks to Stel for ending the confusion over “Coasters” and “Castors” …but there are definite design flaws in the chair’s construction… aaand I think we also need to admit that Darin is a bit of a klutz! He needs to take lessons from Steve, here! Now this guy really knows his way around a chair!
Hi Shika!I’m in and out alot lately, just whenever I can get the computer to stay connected to the internet! I’ve only been disconnnected 3 times today!

Not a surprising result if you know that Darin’s nephew was using it last Friday night in the break room to play “Blast Off”

With everyone playing “Blast Off”, the whole office is full of broken chairs!

Well sure, what with the sound of breaking chairs all around.
SusanSunshine Premium Member over 10 years ago
Well, when Darrin requisitioned a new chair, he didn’t mention anyone playing “Blast off” in his old one….
but he was probably trying to put a more professional spin on things.

CASTERS.The CASTERS on the chair failed.Coasters are what you set your glass on to prevent circles on the desk.

Good to hear from you, Bev… just in case you see this.
Glad your Mom is doing better.Let me know when you’ll be back…and even if it’s not a Thursday night, I’ll see if I can get the Fireman to come in.
Sometimes, though, he’s busy fighting fires…or saving kittens, or something….

I’ve been thinking that we ought to take some food over to Bev’s Mom’s house, so I baked a Chicken Parmesan casserole and fixed a salad,
but didn’t have time to make a dessert. Does anyone else want to contribute a favorite goodie to take along?
