Alice has grasped, and expresses, the existential meaning of her road trip with poor Miss Bliss (who is, I’d be willing to bet, even now off with Timmy Fretwork, getting thoroughly drunk in hopes of erasing the memories).
If it wasn’t the freezies, then it would have been the lollies or the hot dogs or the peanut butter. Trust me, kids hands are the stickiest things in the world.
Maybe Miss Bliss learned (or relearned) a lesson most parents do — the adult is usually much more concerned about the schedule and planned activities, and more upset if things don’t go as planned. The child is usually happy with the way things turn out, even if totally different than what the adult expects.

Miss Bliss is an extremely poor organizer if a little traffic and a bathroom break completely derails the trip.
