Oh, those old hemi DeSotos could easily do 120 MPH, all while drinking 4 miles per gallon (and two quarts of oil).

True story: I was once in traffic school (don’t ask why), and one of the other students was a driver who’d been ticketed for going 25+ mph over the limit in a school zone… while driving the school bus.

Worse yet is the ID10T who went to court drunk & high for the hearing on his DUI. Paid his fine, sentenced to traffic school, and the cops reticketed him in the parking lot.

Some of you may not be aware; but, those old 57-59 DeSotos can bring top dollar if they are even in fair condition. Of course, the 3 doors are more desirable; but, even Cosmo’s 4 door would be nice to have. I just loved those old typewriter (push button) torque flight transmissions.

    1959 DeSoto Firedome Sportsman Convertible

Very nice it looks like a 4 door convertible which is rare. Only 4 door convertible was a Lincoln used on Green Acers.

I was under the impression the Desoto was a hard top not a convertible.
