Bill Gates gives a lot of $$$$ to charities. Perhaps he’ll give a gift to the old witches home….

They say the filthy rich are the most bored people in the world. So why is Bill smiling?

@Llewellenbruce they only say things like so that poor people won’t be so miserable and jealous.

That’s like the old saying “money can’t buy happiness.” Presumably this would mean that rich people are sad and poor people are happy, but that just isn’t the case.

Broomie, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but your chances with Billy-Boy are slim-to-none!

If Bill Gates has a daughter, a good name for her would be Eula.

If it hadn’t been for Bill’s wife he would still be sitting on his loot. He doesn’t care about money, it’s the power.

BUT….he wouldn’t have the power without the money.

Money can’t buy love or happiness… but it can RENT it for a little while! ;)

To say “Money can’t buy happiness” isn’t to say that poor people are necessarily happier than rich people; it just means that one’s happiness has little to do with one’s bank account (or indeed any absolute condition). There’s another saying, “Love will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no love.” Again, partially true.

Financial worries are major impediments to happiness, and the rich are not immune to them. The guy who once said “I can’t be happy until I get some money” turns into the guy who says “I’ve got some, but I can’t be happy until I get MORE”, and winds up saying “I can’t be happy with my riches because I might lose them.” If you can be truly happy with “enough”, you might risk that happiness in the struggle to have “more than enough.”
