Do the comics parody real life or does “real life” reflect the comics ?

I’ve noticed that on NBC’s spy show ‘Chuck’, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0934814/ the enemy organization is called the ‘Ring’. Their leadership sits around a circular dais in a darkened room, and are only shown in silhouette. Like other enemy organizations, such as SPECTRE and the Blue Circle, they have rather draconian outplacement techniques. Is ‘Annie’ following ‘Chuck’ or vice versa

JDG: Joe’s right. Take a look at the last panel of Sunday’s strip. The date is 2-14-10. And Annie is rarely a recap of the week’s strips. You’re thinking of Dick Tracy or Alley Oop.

Wrong comic Sunday, eh? That explains a lot of things, like the unannounced reappearance of Grimm. Where, online, can a person find the “right” Annie for 2/7?

Character appear unannounced all the time in Annie. Sunday’s strip may be the correct one; the date may be incorrect.

Am I to understand that the NewYork Daily News still carries Annie after it “dropped” Dick Tracy some 13 years ago ?
