Republicans/Fox “news” viewers were never concerned about veterans’ care when Bush was in the White House.=Now, united in their hatred of Obama, they really, really, really want to expose the problems. They hope to make them worse before the next elections — to show how patriotic they are.
Wow! Talk about unfair! Eric Shinseki himself was a combat veteran! Also, the problems mainly seem to be confined to the claims review and acceptance portion of the DVA. The Hospitals themselves are getting high marks in surveys. Once again, Mikey doesn’t have his facts straight.
Not just disingenuous, but typical of Ramirez, an outright lie.
A Republican House member from West Virginia has just introduced a rider to the Defense Appropriations Bill MANDATING that Defense cannot spend a cent on the greatest threat to peace and security in the world, recognized in existing Pentagon and related experts: climate change. This rider is a perfect example of how Republicans for a long time have given the VA the shaft, hidden deep in budget documents they assume will not be traced back to them. It’s why Shinseki was handed such a mess, and it’s personnel related, not just the dollars, but how CONGRESS allows those dollars to be spent.
Ask not what you can do for your country, but what the TEA party types will do TO you!
Just another failure of the O administration to oversee anything. Kinda like the IRS, NSA, DOJ, or the Defense Department. And once again they “had no idea this was going on until we read about it in the media”. Disgusting.
Irrespective of the truthfulness, this is a low blow, even for you, during the Memorial Day weekend….there are plenty of other days to rightfully blast ineptitude, not when we should be thankful and grateful…
Krock, well, I was raised in a totally dedicated (fanatic) GOP household, but I don’t count post- Reagan radical right-wingers and TEApotters as GOP. Specific GOPers have done a lot of damage to this country, and our troops and veterans, and hidden well their offenses beneath the cover of “process”.
One of the most important principles is “cause and effect”. WMDs and “climate change” demonstrate why Republicans in the current mode will buy a lie in the former, yet ignore and attempt to refute the latter, which is true, and both cause AND effect of and from their policies.
So basically the Republicans underfund the V.A. since the 90’s, ignore it all throughout the War Shrub administration, and block legislation that would have helped them enhance their healthcare, education, and job benefits back in late February of this year.
This is how government health care will take care of US citizens, just like the government health care America’s Veterans are getting. This is a peek into the future. It’s coming.

The US has had chronic difficulties managing Veterans Affairs since, oh, um, always. Going back to Shays’ Rebellion in 1786.

But remember its all Obama’s fault!

Fox news and the republicans will stop talking about it and the Dems and the mainstream press will start.

Just a note; back in February, it was 42 Senate REPUBLICANS who voted against funding for veterans, and killed the bill.
