That’s Marlene.Julie’s drawing of all her characters’ sizes and shapes is quite inconsistent…especially as panels may have been drawn years apart.
But you can still recognise them by their accoutrements… This is Marlene, cos she’s wearing Marlene’s signature hairdo, big round glasses and triangular earrings.
Burl looks thinner too….and Joy looks huge.Julie just drew them that way on that day.
I believe Mikie’s right because Burl is never usually so caring and considerate. I’m surprised that he’s even clever enough to know that it might impress.
He wouldn’t get out of the chair to answer the phone let alone drive to the dollar dump to give her another dollar or two. And comment to Joy, that’s a two way street, I don’t know who is making the greater sacrifice. Maybe the neighbors on the bathroom side of their house have it the worst.
