the reason the chicken crossed the road was to set up a joke.)and all this time, I thought he just wanted to get to the other side, cause Frank Purdue and Colonel Sanders were after him!
I’m planning to make the kids fill up three or four dumpsters with the rubbish when we die. By the way, a lot of donations to charitable agencies cost them money to dispose of.
My mother lives in a retirement trailer park. Many times when the residents have died their heirs, after removing anything they wanted, have just left the stuff out for anyone in the park to take. I find it ghoulish. Of course my mom is usually one of the first ones there. My sister & I have already said there is nothing we really want. Mom has always been a packrat. When I was a kid we lived in Germany. She used to put me in the dumpster to see if there was “anything good”. Totally explains my OCD.
Where I live, if you have things in useable shape that you don’t want, you put them on the curb on a nice day. Guaranteed it’ll all be gone within a couple hours. If there’s a bunch of stuff, you post a couple signs around saying that there’s a “curb” sale.
What is a chicken? What has she got?If not herself, then she has naught. To cluck the things she truly feelsAnd not the squawks of one who kneelsThe record showedI crossed the roadAnd did it my way.

I’m not sure if 1-800-728-7825 (Salvation Army donation truck) works in Canada… specially in 1980s Canada.

Yup, at our house, if we had to get rid of whatever, we put it on the curb. It’s amazing what people will take. Maybe she could have a yard sale. lol

They don’t have garage sales or yard sales in Canada?
hippogriff about 10 years ago
Kim Metzger: They did in the 1970s, plus the British custom of church rummage sales were firmly established, and Sally Ann was quite active.
