I’ll miss the ol’ Top 40… – And will think about him as I hear his Alex Cabot, Shaggy Rogers, and a whole host of ’em…..

@Guy GilchristI was in Bombay when I heard of his passing, Guy. Every weekend I’d listen to the old AT40 recordings from the vault and remember all my favourites.
And as a kid, I will always remember how he was the only one who could ever do “Zoinks!” the way it was meant to be done.
As we keep reaching for the stars, Casey, the warmth in your voice will give them their glow.

Losing Casey reminds us baby boomers that time is precious, and it goes so fast. I thought Casey would never become an elderly man. You are right, UncleScrooge, Casey must be up there doing the Top 40 for a bunch of people with pretty wings. I can’t imagine him anywhere else.

And a lot of that music went through tubes!I can remember when 45s first came out – much lighter but same price as the 78s. The early 45 players did not have amplifiers and speakers – they played through your radio. 45s worked great, but when CDs came out, the record manufacturers dropped their quality control.(To urge the switchover?)

Casey gave me the top 40 and I loved him for it. But I can still Clap for the Wolfman. There are two greats. I don’t think Radio will ever be the same.@exturkYep.. CD. While digitizing sound has its merits, The reproduction is no where near what one can get from a slab of Vinyl and the proper equipment.LOL … and now the mp3 is making the cd obsolete.
