Thereâs a neat story from â1812. Two small towns on the US/Canadian border were each given weapons and a store of gunpowder for national defense. Later, the Canadian town asked for a re-supply of powder. They explained the original supply had been used for fire works to help the Americans celebrate July 4th. Those are my kind of neighbors. :-)
So: Two guys are walking down the hill after the sermon, and one observes, âIt wasnât that the wine was great, or anything, but still⊠it was way better than the local water.â To which the second observed, âIt reminded me of Welchâs Grape Juice!â [ I KNOW many of you protestants get thatâŠ. ]

I am surprised that the Huns celebrated Independence Day. They loathed anyoneâs independence and tried their darndest to eliminate it.
