Granddad: School starts in a couple weeks, Huey. Excited? Huey: What?! Hold up, I thought we agreed that I would be home schooled. Granddad: We never talked about that. Huey: Yes we did. Remember I was explaining to you the white man's conspiracy to brainwash me with his eurocentrism? Granddad: Oh. Maybe we did talk about it. I have a tendency to tun you out whenever you say the words "white man's conspiracy."

I understand your concern, Huey – but based on how my sister’s kids (one who went to school, two who were home-“schooled”) tuned out compared to each other, and the home-“schooled” kids who then entered real school that I encountered as a sub , and those I had in class as a community college instructor (where you just sign up; they couldn’t have gotten into a school with any admission standards), I really have to advise against it.

Huey, if I could get you a one-way ticket to Nigeria would you go?
