Huey: Is that so much to ask? A movie that I can relate to? I can't relate to "The Patriot"! I wanna see a movie about the black struggle. I wanna see our story told on the big screen, you know? Caesar: Sure. You wanna see "X-Men." Huey: Exactly, but can I get just one more black person? One? Caesar: And one less really bad white wig...yeeesh...

I liked X-Men: First Class, but am still annoyed that Darwin was killed off, when his whole mutant ability is that he adapts to survive anything.

He can catch an old, classic movie that came out in 1973 during the Blaxploitation era called “The Spook Who Sat By The Door”. I still watch it from time to time. Very realistic.

I enjoy Miles Morales and Black Panther.

This whole arc always makes me wonder what Huey would have thought about the Black Panther addition to the MCU.

Speaking of the X-Men, this is why I prefer new characters rather than changing an existing character’s race. Had Len Wein and Dave Cockrum had the latter mindset in the 70s, when adding Black characters first became a priority, they might have given us a Black Jean Grey – and probably not bothered to create Storm.

US black population is 13.6% of total so to get two in the cast, assuming proper representation, we would need at least 15 mutants in the cast. Funny how this BS doesn’t apply to professional sports. It’s a freaking business people, no one wants to see poor athletes just cause they’re white, and people go to movies to see their favorite stars race doesn’t factor in to that. Quotas don’t work.

Can’t relate to Mel Gibson movies? Now you know how women feel!
