This whole arc is extremely irritating! This simply isn’t correct! If you are content with not sitting in the best seats, there are absolutely cheap tickets to be had! I buy seasonal tickets in the cheaper seats and they’re only a little bit more expensive than going to the movies. And no, it’s not only here in Iceland, the orchestras all over make sure they have reasonably priced tickets, otherwise their audience will die of old age!

Symphony orchestras will have free concerts in a park once or twice a year. Community bands give concerts for free-will offerings in smaller towns and suburbs. Classical radio stations are free and public TV provide better close-ups than live concerts by the top symphonies of the world. If you played in school, get your lip back and try out for one of the community groups, it’s even more fun than just listening.
