Unfortunately, misuse of Federal grants by some groups have made it difficult for others to get those types of grants. Also, there is no “cure for cancer” — as if cancer was a singular disease. There are potentially cures for specific types of cancers. He and his group are competing for funding against other groups that are doing similar research. Not everyone is going to get funded.
