cabrobst, the ‘death squads’ penned by the ‘I can see russia from my house’ nimrod ironically is exactly that …..
this term was the response to one of the parts of the originally proposed health care bill that was to have a consultation with a physician concerning end of life decisions ( a living will, duh) being paid for by the the feds
I can’t afford some of the new state of the art medical care
I can’t afford an $300,000 sports car.
Maybe someone else will pay for them.
Otherwise I use old fashioned medicine and drive a Chevy
I’ve already outlived the life expectancy of 100 years ago
Ah, the veterans with free health care are complaining about it for the rest of us? Or is it not enough free stuff for them from the gov? I get confused on that issue. I have a theory: if everyone on Soc Sec and Vet aid gave back their benefits, they could give more money to congressional retirement. That way they would share the same benefits as the rest of us and then they would REALLY have something to complain about.
freeholder1,
VET BENEFITS are not “free stuff”, they are what we VETS have earned. Consider it a delayed payment.
Social Security benefits is the money that I, and my employers, have been withholding from my paycheck and entrusting to the government for the last 43 years. And I am not likely to ever see a penny of it back.
Joe - After burying both of my parents, and seeing how much that costs, I’ve decided on simple cremation with no viewing before. No embalming needed if cremated within 24 hours (I think that’s the time limit) and no casket, vault, headstone either. Then I’ve told my family to dig a hole, put my ashes in, and plant a tree or bush as my marker. What I leave behind is just my shell - my soul will be with Jesus.
Rmom amen to that solution. my next of kin have strict instructions to recycle whatever can be (as in organ donations, etc.) and burn the rest for easier disposal. i don’t need any headstone for myself, and the ones that know me won’t forget me when i’m gone!
I am grateful Joe for the support in Vietnam.
