Cul de Sac by Richard Thompson for February 12, 2010
Transcript:
Viola: Hello, Amazing Alice! Here's more homework for Petey. Alice: This is for you from Petey. Viola: A stuffed gila monster? Alice: It is but a mere token of his profound esteem and abiding affection, dear lady. Beni: Petey said that? Alice: Naw. I heard it in some movie.

Is Viola reacting to Petey’s attraction, or to Alice’s erudition? Could be read either way…

Well said, Alice! And people say movies aren’t educational…

I hate (sorry… don’t say hate, don’t say hate…) I have awkward feelings towards party-crashers. But I feel I must do a little shameless-self-promoting here. I notice a lot of you commenting on the same sights that I view. Either we all have good taste in comics, or we’re all flipped-out and going to hell in a hand basket (whatever that means, but thank you Grandma). Would any, and maybe even all of you, trip on over to Sherpa and check-out my comic Mad Mouse? I’m pretty new and am just getting my bearings, so I can use all the wacky advice I can get. Just asking, I know you’re all busy… looking at the funnies and all. And thank you Mr. Thompson for putting up with my messaging on your turf-that is, IF you’re putting up with it.

P.S. I posted here because someone compared my writing style to Cul de Sac. After I woke up from passing out… I came directly here. This is an amazing comic strip… always!
AddADadaAdDad over 14 years ago
I, for one, Sherpa. I actually find some of those strips more enjoyable to read than some of the strips here. I don’t know how the Powers That Be determines what goes where, but I have a feeling that perseverance and fine tuning one’s talent is the key to gaining a wider audience.

Good thing Alice didn’t just see The Shawshank Redemption…
