When I had a terrible loss a few years back, I was sitting at the kitchen table crying my heart out when I felt these gentle paws on my knee. It was my old cat. She seemed to sense my sadness and was trying to comfort me.
My wife and I inherited our cat five years ago, and while getting used to living with my flock of finches, he mistakenly thought he could gain my favor by catching one of them for me. I forgave him for that soon enough (circle of life, right?), but since then I have made it clear to him that I will never be more than mildly affectionate. I take regular care of his feeding, and that’s it. My lap is off limits, and “mom” does the petting and grooming. Yet he has never mistaken my distance for outright rejection. I’ve recently been recovering from minor surgery, which has made almost every routine activity awkward and painful. Even though the kitchen table is forbidden during mealtime, he still risked getting up there at breakfast today just to give my hand a reassuring bump. Dumb kitty, you should know that stuff doesn’t work on me… (sniff :’-}).

Sorry but someone has to put the “splain” on me for this one.

Time for Rose to update that old clunker to a newer model.

I wish they still sold CRT monitors. The LCD backlights of flatscreen monitors bother my eyes more than CRT’s at 85Hz ever did.

@ewalnut Go get your eyes checked, that sounds like a symptom of light sensitivity.
It’s not wonder the computer is crashing… that thing must be 10 years old and doesn’t have the power, memory or OS necessary to run anything.

The problem with the new Flatscreens is there’s nowhere for the Kitty to curl up!

You beat me to it. CRT’s don’t have back lighting.

Of course it would help if the computer they have wasn’t made in the 70’s
