Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for July 17, 2014
Transcript:
Ringo: I have lived in this lake a long time. When the camp children arrived, I was not pleased. So much splashing and laughingg and bag clarinet playing... there was really only one thing I could say to them. "RAR," I would say. Marigold: You would like my friend Todd.

That’s the way to handle them, Ringo.

@ Nun’Ya Bidness: You might be thinking of Tex Avery’s Rock-a-Bye Bear (MGM, 1952), but Droopy isn’t in that one. There is another “I HATE NOISE!!!”-cartoon by Avery (Deputy Droopy; MGM, 1955), but the Sheriff in that one is Human…ish.

Does Ringo dispense sweets when he says “RAR”?

I tried to fricassee a lake monster in R. H. Junior’s “Nip and Tuck” strip a few years ago. It had a happy ending, but the beginning and middle were not so happy for me. Lake monsters are worse than roadrunners when you try to eat them.

I immediately thought of Todd, although I couldn’t remember his name.
