Ever notice how dirty those bugscreens get on your vehicle? Eww! Even the carwash can’t always get that c r a p off, and when it does, soon as you’re driving down the highway in the summer time, you run into them, and what was clean two minutes ago, isn’t clean anymore!
Nope, after many minutes Googling and reading the comments, there is no making sense of this cartoon, unless someone has some detail of life Down Under to share to help us Up Above understand.
In Australia, we have regular window screens, and often on the same door we have a ‘fly screen’. This ensures we can still let the brezze through, without having the flies come in with it.
We get a lot of flies in Australia - especially in summer.

Okay, what are “flyscreens”? Are they… A. screens to keep out flies B. flies so small they get through screens C. Something else.

Apparently in Oz, screens are named for what they keep out, rather than the opening into which they are designeed to fit.
window screen = flyscreen?

Silly me, I always thought they were tests to find the best fly for the job!

If flyscreens are window screens, why would you need a collective noun for a group of them?

Rmom A & C (but C is some cell phone thing - probably not relevant)
In this part of the USA most of us call them bugscreens, because they keep the bugs out.
