if I was from tulsa , I would jump in here and correct crazyolnick about the difference between ancient troy and the vikings both separated by centuries…..
and then go into a spiel about how this related to some job I had thirty years ago….somehow missing the hole point that crazolnick was trying to make about the trojan horse….
Don’t forget the North Sea saw other groups who raided by sea before the Viking Era, and even used similar boats: Jutes, Saxons and Angles in 5th-8th centuries, Frisians and others before that.
And, back at the dawn of civilization, on the border between the woad-using Picts and Britons and the ocher-favoring Teutons, were the whiteface Buffoons…
You see, the thing about those boats which was so scary was that in one little boat like that, they had like 10,000 warriors, all with big red noses and giant shoes and confetti cannons.

So that’s why so many people are afraid of clowns!

Bozo the clown doesn’t scare me at all.
serenasakitty almost 15 years ago
The clown is bad enough, but the happy faces on the shields are really scary.
Am I the first to be offended? HA!
joefish25 almost 15 years ago
@ Carmy…. hilarious!

Did the Spanish Inquisition use the same methods? OK, say it.

Not very scary. I am happily offended by this one.
Good Morning Thom and Everyone

I resemble that remark!
I never do my (nowadays rare) clowning unless parents have been told a clown will be present at an event. Lots of kids are frightened of us.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Good Morning Celecca. I like clowns and my kids have always liked them.

Also being of Viking heritage (this is getting scary, DocToon), I love this one!
It’s the “Ride of the Carnivalkeries”!
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Some of the poor men who fought against them were diagnosed with CSD (clown syndrome disease).

Hm, brothers in arms. I too have Viking heritage and am scared to death of the Insane Clown Posse.

It’s the mime raiders that really scared the Saxons. Resulted in too much Saxon violence.

“You know, I think we’re all Bozos on this boat.”

Geesh! Does terror count as much as offense? I honestly can’t look at the panel long enough to be offended.
(Bunnyface thank you for being both a bad and good example in recent days. You can have as many cookies as you would like.)
bmonk almost 15 years ago
@freeholder, I thought you could never have excessive Saxon Violins, at least in Hollywood….
Oddly, I feel I should add that I happen not to be offended today. I hope that doesn’t offend anyone.
Digital Frog almost 15 years ago
@freeholder - that gave me a great idea on how to repel the invaders - we’ll just mime the harbor!

Shouldn’t a clown boat be tiny?
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
That’s Jester funny kind of boat. Nothing terrifying about that!
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
(Now the Happy Faces, THAT’S another story.

Barnum, rape ‘em, and pillage ‘em. Always Lief ‘em laughing.

AHH! I HATE clowns!

I’m offended that anyone would find that getup terrifying…I mean really!
The real problem with these clowns was that their leaders had to keep on saying, “How many times do I have to tell you this? FIRST pillage…THEN burn!”
