Cap’n barfs on King Neptune? Is that what the Lord of the Sea really wants?!

It’s true, I can’t think very highly of a seasick captain, though I’ve been there, done that (crossing the North Atlantic in a December of the last century).

It can happen to the best of us. Admiral Lord Nelson was known to suffer from sea-sickness quite frequently.

Give Neptune a jet ski and he’ll be having the time of his life He will be having so much fun that he won’t even worry about being lonely.

@mntim I think Neptune is a big water drop.

I’m okay on water as long as I’m in a canoe or raft. Put me in anything larger, I’m like the captain: it’s one reason a cruise is not high on my list of dream vacations.

So far, I haven’t been seasick on the water. But then, I’ve never been in a storm on the water either.

I asked a former Navy man and good friend about seasickness, because I wondered how prone I might be to the malady. “How’s your sense of balance?” he asked. “It’s quite good,” I replied. “Then you shouldn’t get seasick,” he opined.

Off Barbados I was on a catamaran with a large group, including a wife who was very prone to seasickness even on such a small craft. I told her how I got and kept my “sea legs”, letting my body sway in a particular way so my ear canals (which are constantly being overstimulated anyway) wouldn’t be shaken up. She tried that and she said it helped a lot.

Real seamen are welcome to jump in and refute that rule of thumb at any time. :)

Doctor Toon, I try not to be annoying just to get attention, but I’m always afraid of getting attention by being annoying. If my inability to suffer foolishness gladly gets out of hand, will you or somebody hit me with a two-by-four between the eyes to get _my_ attention? :)

Failing that, a piping hot carafe of Nuclear Coffee spilled strategically in my lap should do it. :))
