I’ve read four times and I still don’t get it! Can someone explain?

I guess this is one of my denser mornings. Counter?…I still don’t get it! Am I hopeless?

Granite’s rather dull, not all that intelligent. Of course that might be why it’s “counter intelligent!”

We know Ron Gee … That is what makes the joke.

Ron must have made the joke for us in the US… CSIS is the Canadian equivalent to the CIA.

Poppy, I know most people would understand the joke, but there were so many comments above from those that didn’t that I thought an explanation would be helpful.
