Cuco: In non-celebrity-oriented breaking news: The mighty state of Texas is now crumbling under the Central American child invasion! Texas has been taken down by the "Kidconquista"!
I was raised in a Texas that thought their state was the biggest, baddest thing on the planet. When did they deteriorate to the point where 600,000 children was an impossible problem to solve, especially when they aren’t all coming into Texas and many other states are offering to take their share of kids?
Now, Jeffrey, didn’t your mother tell you it completely undermines any sense that you actually do any thinking to spout ignorant, blatantly false tighty-righty talking points without bothering to even back them up with further falsities? There’s all sorts of suggestions about how to pay for stuff. Like closing tax loopholes, reinstating estate taxes, properly funding the IRS to audit large-money tax dodgers, reversing Bush-era tax breaks, etc. How about this one: who’s going to pay for the (so far) trillion-dollar F-35 fighter boondoggle? Do you ask the same questions about who’s going to pay for proper medical services for our armed services veterans? There’s plenty of money. It’s just generally going to people who make Scrooge McDuck look like a card-carrying communist..Anyway, the majority of the kids who have come across have sponsors (family members, etc.) who are taking them in. So, yeah, they’re paying for it.
@echoravenYour post was as empty of content as an echo, and too devoid of thought for you to be able to honestly claim the second part of your name. Maybe you should change it to echoalgae.

You’re right. I don’t ask “How do you pay to care for people?” I care for people first, and give them aid if I can.

Where the republicans always ask, “How can we make the poor, the sick, the elderly and the veterans pay for this benefit for the wealthy?”

Everyone today is biting at raindrops. “Clowns to the left of me, jokers on my right…”

Who the hell cares about non-celebrity-oriented news, anyhow?

I’ve lived in Minnesota, represented by both Al Franken and Michelle Bachman. The correct phrasing is, “Jokers to the left and clowns to the right.”
