    Pauline Bonaparte, the sister of the Emperor Napoleon, once posed for a statue, posed much the same and wearing as little as the lady in the painting. When someone asked her if she hadn’t been uncomfortable posing that way, she said, “No, there was a nice warm fire in the room.”

    When in my teens, I painted an oil on plywood using a mirror. My mother destroyed it- I wish she had not, as I’d like to see how I saw myself at that time.
