My first Royal Flush came with about $6500…

If Grandma wasn’t throwing the game just beating an adult for the first time is a milestone. My mom played to win and my sister and I still remember the first time we beat her at monopoly, cribbage and scrabble (that one wasn’t until the teens!)

I never did manage to beat my dad at cribbage. He was a real cutthroat player!

Somehow, Ruthie, this doesn’t seem to fit in a ‘baby book’…

Uh, Rick, the ‘straight’ in your last frame is redundant. A royal flush is by definition a straight flush with the highest cards of the suit.

I heard the Queen gets a royal flush everyday.

Well, it depends, Ruthie, doesn’t it? How big was the pot?

Because my next royal flush will be my first, it certainly qualifies as a developmental milestone. It is, after all, the poker equivalent of a hole-in-one, which is another thing I have yet to accomplish.

Our first “Royal Flush” was in the ‘in town’ house we moved into. Even had toilet paper and everything. Awesome. Even had a lock on the door. Ah, memories…….
