Ruthie is right on yelling. When hubby talks to me, I have hard time hearing and he is in a different room, so I have to go to hear what he is speaking on. I think he can hear me when I talk.
I was raised not to even try to speak to someone in another room. Go to that room and speak. I raised my child the same way. I didn’t expect the behavior to continue once she married, but it did. Her spouse once told me that she could not hear him when she was in another room and so he would have to walk to where she was. I told him she had always had that “problem.”

A kid would get in trouble for hollering, but it’s all right for adults. One of the great double standards of all time.
