Being (like Earl) married to an Italian-American, I have to concur with Opal. I mean, my hillbilly mother may have served us Chef-Boy-Ar-Dee sauce, but even she wouldn’t stoop to canned “pasta”.
Bad enough that we have to used boxed pasta. At least we can cook the sauce all day with our fresh garden tomatoes and basil. When we lived in the SF Bay Area we would visit a local laurel tree for bay leaves. Now we have to make do with friend’s shipments.
