Why not ask grandkids to work on driveway they live to the grandparents. For us we not had much on snow, been rollercoaster on weather. New Years weekend we had to stay home ice and sleet, later in the week warmed up. Last Friday to Saturday just trace of snow, Monday and today Tuesday high will be 60°, Wednesday cool down. Daughter and I walk 3 fur babies. Our grass is trying to grow and trees have leave buds, my sinus not sure what to do.

I remember a substitute meteorologist saying that, way back in the 1970s, the explaining why the regular TV weatherman wasn’t on the show one night.

I remember as a kid the local tv station getting their own Doppler Radar and the weatherman laughing on day 1 that he thought they needed to calibrate it a bit more (not sure how that’s done) he showed how it was reading clear skies, he had the cameraman follow him to the emergency exit and opened the door to it pouring. “Grab your umbrella folks, it’s gonna be a wet one.”

Weather is a small part of climate. Both are in chaos so predictions are hard and can change hourly. The larger the system, the easier it is to forecast.

When I was in college years ago, there was a forecaster that came on and said, “It looks like we’re going to start out sunny tomorrow, but increasing clouds will change over to rain and possibly some snow. It’ll be calm initially but we’ll see gusts of up to 25mph by evening. So it’ll be sunny, some rain and likely snow, temperatures ranging from a high of 45 down to freezing, and variable winds.”

I looked over at my friend and said, “Well, he can’t be wrong with a forecast like that. All he basically told us is ‘some kind of weather will happen tomorrow’”.
