I don’t get Jon saying Garfield doesn’t have personality.
The problem is Garfield has more personality than he needs.
He also has more appetite that what he needs so he only
falls short on ambition, self control and tact. Jon is correct–
Garfield’s bad points out weigh his good points. Well, I tried.

I wouldn’t say he lacked personality! I have yet to meet an orange tabby who didn’t have an overabundance of character.
