Actually I wasn’t worried. Even if the decision went the other way, TJ’s future is clear. He’s going to dye his hair green, paint his face white and go terrorize Gotham City.
glad to see he is staying for awhile. The way the comic was written TJ didn’t look guilty…just as surprised as everyone… granted that’s a good bit of acting but I’m still glad he is staying. He has a good heart.
@MstreselenaI agree. Like him or not, TJ is smart and he plays the long game. (Re. Ann Eiffel) I wouldn’t be surprised if he had found a defective piece of equipment on the truck, set Brad up to investigate, and will now be able to collect the insurance money AND sue the corporation that made the unsafe equipment. He may be written out by retiring to his own island paradise!
The other obvious question now that the vote is over is how the approval will happen. Will it be approved because fraud can’t be proven, or will TJ be exonerated?
Hmm. Only approved by around a 5:3 ratio. Sure, he looked surprised by the actual explosion, but he didn’t look all that shaken afterward having come as close to death as he (apparently) did. In fact, in each of the strips following the explosion he’s been smiling, sometimes eyes closed and sometimes with a raised eyebrow. After the claim gets approved (as per the vote) I hope Brad investigates and learns it was fraud, though I can see TJ just outright telling Brad with that slap-worthy smirk on his face. Brad doesn’t rat out his friend but he does end the friendship. Fits.
I wouldn’t be surprised if TJ Did do it…but I am thinking what happened was all circumstantial. I really do not like TJ because he reminds me of a snake-oil-salesman! I hope Greg will write him out of “Luann.”
TJ has a good heart but sometimes lands as a bit naive. In reality he’s one smart cookie. Look how he handled the owner of Weenie World. He’ll come up smelling like a rose!
TJ is a good character in every sense. People tend to think the worst of those they don’t understand, and I don’t think we have ever gotten a real back story on him. But he’s always been a good guy and faithful to his friends. Remember how Brad’s parents didn’t like or trust him—at first?
Missed the chance to vote, but. Hoping that he learned from the Meals bit and that what he levered on Ann Eiffel was the new TJ. As for the calm and cool, TJ rarely has ruffled no matter what happened in his life.
Go back to the day of the explosion. TJ looks completely surprised and taken off guard. Of course the readers witnessed it, but no one else did- and they can’t hear us.
Can someone clue me in on this? I just found this pleasing ‘extra’ and went back and read them. I didn’t even know it existed. I’m loving it, but don’t understand the bit with the ‘votes’ on TJ.

I thought the vote would last more than 1 day. I’m glad to see TJ will be around for awhile to get in more trouble

Do I remember a time when the strip said TJ was really independently wealthy? Did I dream that? I don’t think he set the fire/explosives.

Ann Eiffel will be the insurance agent and she’ll go out of her way to determine it was FRAUD on TJ’s part!

Well, he did look surprised when the explosion occurred. Not at all as though he were expecting it.

Needs to be first suspected and later exonerated. It will make for a good story
