Transcript:
Calvin: "Oh man! Mom went to a parent-teacher conference! I'm as good as dead! Miss Wormwood will tell mom all sorts of horror stories about me!" Hobbes: "Horror stories?" Calvin: "Well, it's all a question of perspective. Still, I think I should be allowed to have a lawyer present as the meeting" Hobbes: "What are you going to say when your mom gets back?" Calvin: "Nothing" Hobbes: "Nothing at all?" Calvin: "Buddy, if you think I'm even going to BE here, you're crazy!"

Calvin never just puts his belongings tied in a bandanna on a stick when he runs away.

With a track record like Calvin’s, you think he’d have a “to go” back packed and ready to go at all times.
That’s one reason I back into a parking space. I can never tell when I might want to leave in a hurry.

Well…as usual it won’t work, Calvin. You’re taking all that baggage with you anyway.
Also…isn’t Dad a lawyer? Guess in this matter, it would be a conflict of interest for Calvin’s dad to be his lawyer in a meeting between his other parent and a teacher ABOUT Calvin. Crosses my eyes to think how many ways of bad that could all go….

Unlawful flight to avoid prosecution…. Contrary to popular belief you can and you can hide, but eventually they’ll get you sooner or later

@Caldonia: I think part of the problem is that a message board like this is somewhat impersonal. We aren’t with each other and we can’t see each other. If someone on the street asks me for directions, I don’t begin by quizzing them as to whether they have a smart phone and whether they know how to use Google Maps. I simply try to help them by answering their question, and I’m glad to do it for them. For a message board, I like to see the computer used as a tool to help facilitate human interaction. It should not be an end in itself, where we make every attempt to use the computer to do everything possible before finally resorting to human interaction. On the other hand, all of us should be willing to learn some basic computer skills so that we don’t have to ask others the same questions over and over. Life is about balance.
