FoxTrot Classics by Bill Amend for September 27, 2014

I think this is taking it a bit too far. FoxTrot has always got most of its laughs for sibling rivalry, but this “parental approval” has got me thinking. At that age, I would beam, at that age, whenever my parents approved of something I did! Of course, my dad wasn’t of the kind that would say “good job!”, or “well done!” during every breath, which kind of made it more special. So knowing it is a comic, and not real life, it still plays with certain truths. And if this is a truth, I have to feel sorry for this “family” whose children disapprove of parental approval. Dixi.

Man, what a disappointment. I was hoping that was Roger playing Don Iguan…if not an space alien.

When I showed my dad some of this week’s strips (11 years ago), he hoped Don Iguan would return. But this strip guaranteed otherwise.

It’s sad that kids, especially teens, often think this way.
