Oh my goodness! LOLs!

Did Elly take the groceries upstairs and leave them there along with her coat and shoes? I’m with howtheduck on this one: when I bring my sleeping kids in from the car, I just get them settled and then get the shopping and take off my coat and shoes.

Man, you’re in the Slumberland lumberyard and chaos happens when the saw is turned off. Know what I’m saying?

Even the central air fan shutting off wakes me up.

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, lost the t-shirt.

I think Lizzie got enough sleep in the car that it was just time for her to wake up. It just happens that way sometimes.

OpenWings, if she didn’t put TIP-TOE, I’m sure some wiseacre would have said “why is Elly walking so strangely?” ;-)

I’m with the bird. I had to turn off the heater in my hotel room last weekend at bedtime- couldn’t sleep with the noise. I switched it on again 1st thing in the morning chill though, because my Timneh was in his travel cage.

I would have left the bags for another trip- as it is obvious by coats that nothing will spoil or melt if left a while.

The joke is cute though - implying that only a certain sound will wake the baby.

I have been there with kids sleeping through the most unbelievable nose then waking up atthe smallest sound. It’s amazing.

Beenn there, said that. There have been days when I just have to grab my purse, yell to the husband “I’M GOING FOR A WALK!” and slam the door before the kids yell, “CAN WE GO WITH YOUUUUU?”

My one year old little bro (I’m in a big family, at least by today’s standards) is a very sound sleeper. he will wake up if you even try to unbuckle his seat.

I am with you, vldazzle. I can not sleep if there is the slightest sound, light (even the alarm clock or the smoke detector) or movement in my room.

It looks like in panel two Elly is carrying Lizzie up the front steps as she is wearing a dark coat and shoes. The rest of the panels she is wearing a purple sweater and is tip toing in socks.

Who knew there would be mysteries to explain from a simple comic strip?

I can sleep with the fan running, if it’s not too loud. What wakes me is the sudden silence when it shuts off.

I’m with you bird55…the more sound the better. With this tinnitus (too many rock concerts, jet engines, parrots, gunshots, etc.) my ears buzz all the time, so I’ve got to have some noise to try and drown out the sound…I keep a fan going as well as an air purifier and a noise generator going…my wife sleeps with a mask and ear plugs…

Elly is amazing! It is no small feat to remove your coat while holding a sleeping child in your arms. Or is that her coat in the crib that she removed and used to cover Elizabeth after laying her down?

door needs a deadbolt.

Screen 7, she screams irrationally at both kids and the dog, wondering why her life is awful.

It’s not like it’s unlikely at all.

It’s more unlikely that she doesn’t.

Bird and Paret, I’m also a bird person, but my Umbrella Cockatoo who was my companion for over 23 years only cryed loudly when she knew she was being removed from a group at our house (or if really frightened- thunder storm or such) because I encouraged her to speak in my tone of voice. Since her death I have adopted a Timneh African Grey and he sometimes still lets out a shrill whistle, but is learning to replace it by a gentler “melody” and is starting to learn to talk. He will have been with me 2 years next October and was fully grown but not trained then.

My LSC was a very quiet bird. Usually. One time that she did get loud was the first time she saw me suffering a migraine. I think she thought I was dieing, and panicked. Also, being scared by a mouse or a bug. Cat’s were generally okay.

Lol lightenup! I’d say that’s a certainty :o)
