I have a web-browsing appliance, that’s also a camera, alarm clock, flashlight, weather forecaster, music player, magazine, song identifier, phone book and a link to all my stored photos…. on which i can text people, read books, and do e-mail….among other things.
Oh yeah…. and it’s a phone.I think.I oughta try talking on it now and then.
X .. wow, what a concept. As I say, I’ll have to try that…. if I’m not using it for any of the above…or to translate one of dozens of languages, read a bar code or a Q code, tell me what music is playing on the grocery store speakers…or show me a map of wherever I happen to be….
Don’t have a cell phone and don’t want a cell phone. I have Onstar if there is an emergency in the car. Other than that, I’ll get my calls at home thank you.
Like Bev, I have a flip phone. I use only for emergencies, travel and special things so I have a plan the I pay by the day used. I still have my land line that works for FAX plus my ADT system and my TiVo DVRs.
Bought this phone in Aug. 2004 when oldest son went off to Cornell. Of course, brother than had to have one as well. They have been through 3 phones each, both have Smart phones now. Me, I still have this same phone, does all I need it to, and no, I have no internet with it. Still, works for me. Hubby doesn’t even want a cell phone. He did have a Trac phone while oldest was in college in case he needed it on the 4 hour trip one way, to Ithaca to bring our son home at various times.
I also have a TracPhone – when I remember to take it with me. I got 1,000 minutes in March and still have 600. Other than the AAA, the only person I need to talk to is my husband, and he’s usually beside me. If you need me, leave a message at home.
I have an iPhone. Not sure which one. The hubby made me give up my flip phone when the last contract was up. Which ever one came out about 2yrs ago. I still don’t know everything it does, but I do know it has a compass. Wonderful tool for a directionally challenged person.
Oh and it has this really cool schedule thing that constantly beeps at me all day. On one hand, it’s kind of nifty, with the other, I want to do terrible and awful things to it.
I got a big ugly cell phone about 20 years ago when my car broke down on my way to pick up my daughter. I had a very hard time getting to a phone to get help. Now I have a very nice smart phone with a great camera. I rarely use the phone but I use the camera and go on facebook etc when I am stuck waiting places like at the doctors…
