News Flash: Anyone born on the continent of North, Central or South America are American Natives. Those of us who were born in North America can arrogantly claim to be the only Americans; it is a tradition handed down from our immigrant ancestors.

On the other hand, people are now saying that things like Cuba are part of North America because they’re on the continental shelf. By their logic, I wasn’t born on this continent because my birthplace in southern California was west of the San Andreas fault, on the Pacific plate..But you could walk to North America from there without getting your feet wet.
