Just as I was going to type ‘insert black cat for small yellow dog’, the black cat blew in the side door raced to my office leaped upon the desk and threw (literally) a mouse at me (gift). Thankfully, the mouse was dead and didn’t land on my toast.

There is lots of leaf color already here where I live in Vermont. I normally see the first tree start to show fall color on August 1. It was later this year: August 2.

That’s good to hear – the bees have been having a hard go of it, lately. Hope the water situation in CA gets a big boost from El Nino this “winter”…

Squirrels are nothing but rats with good PR.

The squirrels in our backyard love to throw down acorns at my dog and myself. The dog and the squirrels go around and around almost all day.

I just recently discovered why squirrels chase each other around and round the trees. It’s called foreplay.
