The wool must have been thick in his ears. At least it wasn’t over his eyes.

I watched a lot of Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom and I never heard Marlin Perkins say anything about this phenomenon But who am I to say

I’ve never seen a cow eat grass that way.
So each little sprig of wool acts like a tiny antenna. When they are all shorn away, Rory has to depend on his ears instead.
