Think this through. If someone died in a catastrophic accident, severed limbs, compound fractures & such, what happens when you bring back life with all that agony? Will they all thank you for making them live as a quadriplegic or brain damaged? Playing God ain’t what it’s cracked up to be.
Actually, Snoopy was parodying Edward Bulwer-Lytton, who wrote the line as the opening of his novel, “Paul Clifford.” The whole opening paragraph has become the symbol for hyperflorid overwrought descriptive prose..Bulwer-Lytton also coined the phrase, “The pen is mightier than the sword.” Just an potentially interesting bit of trivia.
