It pays to be a croc in this strip.

Tarzan maybe thinking in the second panel that Slam DOESN’t know that the way he’s running is to the raging stream — though he could have inferred the opposite from Slam’s words.

Wasn’t this kind of easy. I thought Slam would try one more time to kill Tarzan or at least destroy his face. That was his original intention. Tarzan should have been the one to toss him in the raging river after one final showdown.

We’ll never see his hideous mug. And no style points on the death dive either, that’s a belly flop special.

Will Slam survive and live to torment Tarzan once again; or will he miss the water and splatter on the rocks? Tune in tomorrow boys and girls.

The pygmies would know too, and Tarzan can’t have a bunch of pygmies spreading rumors about him throughout the jungle.

Take it, back in 1966, the artist thought children would be traumatized if he showed the damaged face. If he could see the walking dead today!

So B.T. Ugly Slam takes a swan dive into crocville, a true coward’s way out. He sure lost a whole lot of crazed vengeance motivation as soon as he came upon Tarzan. Now that raging river will eventually become calmer waters and the bodies will pile up…..BloJo, Red Stoned, Slam, and that poor horse….by the way what became of Slam’s black horse?
