There was…..maybe still is…..a toy about 50 years ago called “Colorforms.” It was flannelgraph made with thin plastic, depicting cartoon scenes (Popeye I recall clearly). .
I know that this has nothing to do with anything, but commentary seems slow today….

@MJ EmighThat is because people are still sleeping through their Sunday School.

I just read the article you posted. Yes, the old ones used “fuzzy felt” cutouts. Due to the amazing strides in technology, they later switched to cardstock. These days….and, yes, they are still available….the board is a huge shim and the pieces are sturdy plastic with that peel-and-stick magnet stuff on the back. .There’s a store called “Creative Playthings” that you’ll find within the larger “U.S. Toy” stores that carries them. Just in case you’re THAT interested. I bet the Christian bookstores have them (or can get them), as well.

I guess that Nancy doesn’t like the answer.

The missing next panel after the last one shows a lighting bolt hitting the tree! Sluggo will never sleep through Sunday School again.

Which is why I have this huge salt lick mounted next to my computer. It comes in handy when visiting Wikipedia, as well.

The biggest problem I have in Sunday School is keeping the kids from bouncing off the walls. Plenty of chances to get up to sing and dance and a craft.

Like in Horsefeathers when Groucho says the college has not enough money to build both a stadium and a dorm. When he chooses the stadium one of the professors asks then where will the students sleep. Groucho replies, in the classrooms where they always do.

Sluggo clearly understands the concept of the eternal Sabbath.
