Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Mark Levin, Coast to Coast AM, and When Radio Was are all on AM. Like most night shift deputies, I am quite familiar with Coast to Coast. You canât really call yourself a cop if you havenât listened to Coast to Coast.
You have to go to the real âcountryâ, small town anywhere. That is where the local radio is AM, they might broadcast 24/7 or not, and most likely need to âpower downâ in the evening. That would be the 1020âs 1050âs 660âs 680âs etc. on the dial to allow the âclear channelâ stations to come in.
It seems that a lot of the small stations, now a dayâs, use a broadcast provider for all or most of their programing. They are programed elsewhere and the locals âaddâ their commercials and maybe a news spot on the hour. I know it is cheaper on them because all they need is an âengineerâ to monitor the signal and to take some calls but you lose some of the local flair.
in Ct; left end of the dialâŠCollege stationsâŠthereâs some Plugger DJâs on weekends that play great not-often-heard oldiesâŠAnd the Vintage Country & Bluegrass Show is always a winner. andâŠ.NO COMMERCIALS!!!! I CANâT STAND COMMERCIALS!!!
GoodDoctor: I didnât know Shreveport was small town, but KRMD will blast out WRR (classical FM). I had it happen once 20 miles from WRRâs broadcast tower. The FCC refuses to do anything, KRMD is a corporation, while WRR is socialism (owned by the city of Dallas).
Any one out there remember WWVA Wheeling WV.I use to get this station (depending on the weather) when we would drive from NJ to NC ( late at night of course) in the 50-60âs .I even got it one time up in the finger lakes in NY state !

Music on AM? Not around here. Itâs a vast wasteland of blabber. Worse, the blabbing is moving into FM.

I guess that revokes my Plugger card, since I can hear the Beatles on FM.

Are you saying that the only way to hear the beetles/Beatles is in a coffin? Thatâs not nice.
