Hey, look, the cacti are waving at me!!! ………….Oh, man, what was in that one?…Jeeze, I hope it’s not a long trip….

You can have fun but only if you stick to the guidelines.

Three Steps…..Lately, it occurs to me….

At least they’ll have good reception on their AM/FM radios, especially the AM stations at night due to the ground wave/skywave effects!!!!

All that hard training in the play ground is finally paying off.

We were just talking about this “old day travel stuff” this past weekend: DOUBLE DVDs! What ever happened to counting colors of cars AND my all time favorite: Spotting license plates from every state in the union. The best we ever did was 26 different states in 24 hours AND it wasn’t a holiday weekend.

They’re putting those on cruise ships now … just in case the ship runs aground on railroad tracks.

On long trips we still play Road Kill Bingo. You earn points based on size, freshness and the ability to identify species. Spring and Autumn are the best times to play.

and just what would that be? which is the teeter and which is the totter?

That should be “been”.

Many years ago my uncle was working a railroad hand car, when he realized that a mistake had been made and a train was far down the track. Since there was a switch-off he could reach with much effort, he pulled arm and shoulder muscles before he (successfully) got there. My mom said that for several days he was in shock and couldn’t say a word, then regained his speech and for awhile could only yell out hard-core cusses. Ordinarily he was a quiet, mild-mannered man.

Many do not even suspect what that is, in 52 the local track crew shack got motorized track wagons,but at night when I worked that RR station we often took rides on the old wagon they still had next to the frieght wagon. They still ran steam locomotives in them days

Don’t forget the license plate game…On a three lettered plate, make up words out of the letters….The one rule is that the letters have to be in the same order as on the plate…For example: BRD 123 – Possible words: Board, bored, aboard, broad, bird, border, brocade, bothered…One other thing, the quality of the word counts…..Example: BST 123 Choices: best, boast, beast or breast….Breast wins for obvious reasons….

I also want to say that this one is rare in that it actually made me laugh out loud.

Just be careful, it’s very addicting….

gogher, after Bob Dylan Robert Hunter is our greatest living songwriter….His later work with Jim Lauderdale, (and Dylan) has been great….Less heavy, but a whole lot of fun…..

Its an OK job. It has its ups and downs. But the ride is fine.
