It’s happened! ABC’s ‘Turn On’ in 1969, was pulled from at least one station (Cleveland) halfway through the first (and only) episode.

It’s been done. Kerry Packer axed “Australia’s Naughtiest Home Videos” in 1992. He just rang the station and said “Get that $h*t off the air!”

Must have been one of Don Rickles’ series…

The comments about the two shows are true, but maybe not accurate. Ziggy was talking about a show cancelled in the middle of an episode, but not necessarily in the middle of the first episode like those two were.

But I keep wishin’

I remember TURN ON. Same creators as LAUGH-IN, but this time NOT a hit. It was said at the time that the decision to cancel was made during the first commercial break. And I heard that in some markets, the broadcast was stopped then. Where we were watching, the show was allowed to finish- but we didn’t know quite what we’d just witnessed.

I was watching TURN ON that first night (it was awful) and remember the news reports of how some stations pulled it halfway through. It was gone next week. Jackie Gleason had a series that got pulled after the first ep,didn’t he? A game show thing, YOU’RE IN THE PICTURE?

Must’ve been on FOX.

Most of the tv shows taday needs to be pulled and canceled even before they air.

I see a lot of shows get cancelled even before the first commercial break!.Yup! I change the channel and never go back…
