Aw! Sorry Rory, it’s lettuce not an egg.

I hate to tell the poor little lamb but …. you can’t hatch lettuce no matter how long you sit on it …. not speaking from personal experience, of course. Oh boy, my avatar’s having an effect on me!

I may be old fashioned,but don’t you plant lettuce (or peas) as soon as you can work the ground? Little frost won’t hurt them.

I guess it depends on your point of view as to rather or not the ground is too cold and Rory is taking the high view and warm seat of the problem

It doesn’t take much body warmth to make little lettuce eggs hatch.

If his tush hasn’t thawed out from sitting in the snow, that certainly won’t do any good.

It won’t work with eggplants either.

I just noticed the green sky in panel five. Does it signify the moment of realization? Or just a coincidence?
