Instead of fighting the badder bad guy now and the bad guy later, why not wait until theyâve thinned out the playing field and then respond to the remaining bad guy and their threat, whatever it is at that time⊠against whateverâs left. Like being in the play-offs⊠There can be only one, and eventually there wonât be much of anything left for the winner, whoever that is.
To Carmenâs point: She apparently understands that this whole âline in the sandâ thing is being laughably misunderstood, to wit: Thereâs âdrawing a lineâ, beyond which one party will not allow itself or others to pass. And then thereâs âdrawing a line in the sandâ, which means, because of the nature of sand, a meaningless gesture easily changed or removed. It is accurate for the event it was applied to, as it turned out. But if it was meant as the âyou SHALL NOT PASSâ, it was painfully embarrassing. And then to color it red on top of itâŠsheesh!

The administration explained that we are bombing IN Syria which is different from bombing Syria. It all depends on what the meaning of âisâ is.
