Just a thought? Given the violent nature of the sport, and it’s fans, how many spouses or “companions” of fans are the victims of abuse or violence every year? There IS a “personality type” involved.

warjoski: like most on the right, it’s not possible to imply “some” in a statement, and not have it taken as “all”. That domestic violence on a “family” level IS far higher in the U.S., not just reactions after a sporting event, is one of our biggest problems. Alcohol and violent sports ARE key contributors to that. The real breakdown in “morality” in the U.S. is far more linked to the increase in acceptance of violence (chickenhawks especially), decrease in personal restraint, decrease in acceptance of facts, and resultant increase in “I think it, therefore, I can.”

Which, it’s interesting that so many “religious types” are also turning out to be the most intolerant, violent, and abusive, because, just like “Gott mit uns”, “God” is on their side, be it Jew, Christian, or Muslim. While yes, there is “prejudice” found in the “non-bible” religions, notably like Hindu “honor killings” not just Jews and Muslims, there is far less violence as an acceptable religious “model”. Just read Joshua for a source of that acceptance, and praise, of violence as the means to spread your tribe, and “faith”.
