I’m disappointed in this at times. At first they used the same strips that are in the National Catholic Reporter, but now they are completely separate, and this one is often fluff. The current run of NPR strips have a good bite to them..Today’s here does not reflect my vision of Pope Francis, who might more likely say “Brother Leo, you can take the elevator, but the steps are good for your heart.”

I found this one on there (NCR) too, but further back (Sept. 30). They might be just submitting them to each website at different times.

I just can’t complain about such a good natured and gentle strip compared to the rest of the news I see on the Internet

Marrin is grateful for any and all comments on the Francis strip. He is also delighted that you are following Francis in both GoComics and on the NCR site at www.ncronline.org, which has much, much more news and commentary on the real pope and on what is happening in the church and the world for anyone interested. GoComics will get a steady narrative featuring Brother Leo, Pope Francis’ new personal assistant. Some of the strips will appear on both sites. Like all cartoonists, I appreciate seeing different interpretations and directions the strip might have taken, hope it is fun and I promise that there will some surprises ahead, both from the Vatican and in the strip, which is, of course, still just a comic strip.

There are days for stairs and days for elevators, but I think it’s a mistake to exclude one as a matter of policy.

If you don’t mind your Holiness, I’ll wait for the Cliff’s Notes Edition.

The only important step in spiritual perfection is the one you need to take today. And, if you allow God, He will tell you what it is and when to take it.
