On Yahoo.com Answers, if you type in all capital letters, it looks like yelling. Your question or answer will be reported and deleted if you do so. Also, I’ve always wondered why the text of Moe’s speech balloons in “Calvin and Hobbes” were in lower-case.

Some people are hard of hearing

With someone typing in caps need to get eye checks.

I guarantee that when someone is writing on paper with a pen, if they use all caps it’s much easier to read. In cursive, most people’s handwriting is so undecipherable, it’s impossible to read.

Not as bad as people who don’t use BCC.. Opps I’m yelling.

I never read comments that are all caps.

When I use caps it’s normally to emphasize a point, but I need to watch my caps use. It never bothered me when someone did, but I guess it’s considered poor internet etiquette and does make some folks mad.

Inside joke. In comics, speech is always rendered in all caps.

When I told a former friend she was using all caps and it was considered yelling, her response was, “I like it.”

Yes, she was a Jerk. Hence the ‘former’ friend.
