Our daughters love thunderstorms. When our older daughter was 4, her preschool teacher told me that she (the teacher) hated thunderstorms; whenever there was one, she would purposely sit near our daughter. Her calm helped the teacher remain calm!
When I was about 5, I had a nightmare and went to my mom for some comfort. I scared her as I woke her up and she screamed at me, which was more frightening than my dream. That was 45 years ago and we both remember that night vividly (and with laughs).
My grandfather told me that thunder was angels playing 9 pins ,rain was God tears, lighting was God taking our pictures or angels turning the lights on and off. To this day I stil love thunder storms…
Considering what we have learned about Lynn’s mother, it comes as no surprise that she was afraid of her, even if only because she was backlit looking like a witch.
As for me, I love thunderstorms, even as a kid. My cats, on the other hand either hide under the bed or cuddle with me.
comicsssfan: When I was a child, I would sleep right through thunderstorms. Now I half wake, hope we will get some rain from it, and go back the rest of the way asleep.
I once sat through a thunderstorm that was so bad that I grabbed my poor terrified dog and sat with him in the hallway. That storm, like most southern Arizona storms, sounded like it was on top of our house, which was really where it was! =-O

Poor Elly. Even when she’s trying to do the right thing, she does something to invite more slams from the Ellyhaters…

We had rain this past week: the aroma of fresh rain and Autumn foliage – I’d love to have a little sprinkling of that everyday while it is available!

As long as the winds are not strong enough to sound damaging, I love to hear the rain.
